We've Made Our Utility Scale Solar Farm Forecasting Product Incredibly Easy to Trial

Solar power forecasting for solar farms and solar parks delivered via API.

If you're ready to get started with our utility scale solar power forecasts, you're in luck, because it could not be simpler to spin up your own demonstration site.  With a bit of basic information about your solar farm, we'll begin forecasting power output for that site through our global rapid update forecasting system.  

To begin, all you need is:

  • The solar farm name
  • Its latitude and longitude
  • The AC & DC rated capacity of the solar farm (in MW)
  • Is the solar farm a 1-axis tracking site? (Y/N)

It's that easy!

But there's more!  Once we've created this solar farm site in our API (which only takes a few seconds), you'll also be able to access our PV Tuning Technologies.  

Just send us an upload the recent history of your site-total PV power output measurements at 5, 10, 15 or 30 minute granularity.  Two months of data that ends in the last two weeks is the minimum requirement, and a full year of measurement data is ideal. Once uploaded, your site will automatically be updated so that the forecasts and estimated actuals are 'tuned' to capture the individual behaviours of your solar farm.

PV Tuning in Action at a Utility Scale Solar Farm Site

Pictured here is a sample of our utility scale solar farm forecasting product, including live accuracy reporting as available via the Solcast API. The user can visually compare the SCADA actuals (orange) to the Solcast satellite-derived estimated actuals (blue line) and the Solcast forecasts (white grey line). Once you've created your own site, you'll have access to live demonstration charts just like the one above.
